Mosta Cycling Club

The clubs’s vision is to promote the sport of cycling across all ages and abilities, by investing in a youth academy in a holistic manner, with long term goals to develop youths into elite athletes, in continued investment in its junior, ladies, masters and elite categories, with the main objective to compete and win races both locally and abroad.

Mosta Cycling Academy

Mosta Cycling Academy provides children and young riders with a structured and enjoyable environment in which to develop their cycling skills, confidence and fitness. Our aim is not simply to teach children how to ride a bike. We want to help them become confident, capable and independent cyclists, while developing skills that can support recreational cycling, group riding and, for those who wish to progress further, competitive cycling.Sessions combine practical coaching, skill development, fitness and fun, with programmes designed around the rider's current ability and stage of development.

OnDRoad

OnDRoad is designed for young riders who are ready to take their cycling to the next level and develop the skills, fitness and confidence required for road cycling.

Children joining OnDRoad must already be confident cyclists with good bike-handling skills and be comfortable riding a road bike.

The programme combines structured static trainer sessions on Wednesdays with supervised road sessions on Saturdays, giving young riders the opportunity to develop both their cycling fitness and practical road-riding skills.During Wednesday sessions, riders train on their own bikes mounted on static trainers under the guidance of a coach. The coach leads a structured cycling workout designed specifically for young riders, introducing them to training concepts such as cadence, pacing, effort control, endurance and interval training in a controlled environment.Saturday sessions put these skills into practice on the road. Training takes place in selected areas around Malta, including Verdala/Buskett and Dingli, giving riders the opportunity to develop their bike handling, group riding skills and road awareness while gaining experience with climbs, descents, varied terrain and longer rides.Participants will develop skills including:
